- Bill has lived in Harrisonburg for more than 40 years.
- Bill's extended family has lived in Harrisonburg for more than 140 years.
- For more than 30 years, Bill assisted in running the clothing store founded by his grandfather, Alfred Ney.
- Bill was the proprietor of his own men's wear store, B. Ney's, from 2000 until this year.
- He has served as Treasurer of his congregation for the past six years, and previously served as President and Vice-President.
- Bill has managed clothing stores known for providing outstanding customer service (as virtually any of the Ney clothing store customers will tell you).
- Bill is committed to bringing a strong ethic of customer service to the position of City Treasurer and will ensure that the citizens of Harrisonburg are satisfied with the way their money is managed.
